From Concepts to Illustration and Design: A Collaboration with Transparency International Australia
When Transparency International Australia (TIA) approached me to bring their 2024-2028 strategy to life, I knew it was an opportunity to create something truly meaningful. As the national chapter of Transparency International—a global coalition against corruption operating in over 100 countries—TIA’s mission is both powerful and urgent. Each chapter operates independently, but together they strive for one unified vision: a world free of corruption.
For this project, I collaborated closely with Hansika Bhagani, TIA’s Advocacy and Communications Manager. Our goal was to visually communicate TIA’s strategy in a way that felt fresh, engaging, and unmistakably their own. The process began with concept development, where I crafted a range of visual ideas that could encapsulate the core themes of their strategy. These ideas were refined through feedback and discussion until we landed on a cohesive visual language that would run through both the cover and internal pages of the strategy document.
Creating Visual Impact
The heart of the project lay in a series of bespoke illustrations, each representing a key area of TIA’s work. These illustrations had to do more than look good—they needed to convey complex ideas with clarity and impact. I focused on creating visuals that would support TIA’s key messages while maintaining a unique, handcrafted aesthetic that’s instantly recognizable as theirs.
The cover design became the flagship piece, setting the tone for the entire document. Using a clean, bold design approach, I aimed to capture the strength and clarity of TIA’s mission. Each internal illustration was designed to align with the strategic themes, ensuring that every visual element had a purpose and contributed to the broader narrative.

Why It Matters
TIA’s mission to combat corruption is essential for protecting democracy and promoting fairness. They do this by exposing illegal practices and advocating for policy change—all driven by research and evidence-based insights. Through collaboration with businesses, government agencies, and community groups, they aim to close loopholes that allow corruption to thrive.
The illustrations I created were designed to support this mission visually, giving TIA’s strategy a clear, memorable identity. Each image embodies the values of transparency, accountability, and justice, serving as a visual reminder of what’s at stake.
Bringing It All Together
From initial concepts to final design, this project was a collaborative effort rooted in a shared purpose. Working with Hansika and the team at Transparency International Australia was a rewarding experience, as it allowed me to apply my creative skills to a cause that’s genuinely important to me. The result is a collection of illustrations and designs that not only look distinctive but also play a crucial role in advancing TIA’s advocacy.
Projects like this are a reminder of why I love what I do. By blending art, design, and strategy, I’m able to create work that informs, inspires, and drives change. And for an organisation committed to tackling corruption, that’s exactly what’s needed.
