Melbourne Tram Illustration - lino cut print

$130.00

The Artwork

Celebrate the soul of the city with this original linocut print of a vintage Melbourne tram. Based on my own photography and sketches, this piece captures the timeless architecture and movement of Melbourne’s iconic streetscapes.

Using the bold, graphic style of relief printing, I have translated the classic lines of the W-class tram into a textured work of art. The contrast between the rich ink and the delicate, natural texture of the bamboo paper highlights the "character" of the city—perfect for anyone who loves Melbourne's urban history or is looking for a unique Melbourne-made gift.

The Studio & Process

I am a Melbourne-based illustrator and printmaker, and my work is a study of the landmarks and details that make a place feel like home.

This piece is created through a slow, methodical process. I spend many hours hand-carving the design into a block before hand-pulling each print in my studio. My style is influenced by the Sōsaku-hanga movement of Japan and the bold heritage of Australian printmakers like Margaret Preston. Because I print every piece by hand, each one has its own unique texture and soul.
