Sandstone Cliffs | Limited Edition Modernist Art Print
The Story Behind the Artwork This original landscape artwork captures the raw, monumental beauty of Australia’s ancient sandstone cliffs. Shaped over millennia by the relentless forces of wind, water, and time, these towering rock faces—whether framing the rugged Victorian coastline along the Great Ocean Road or rising sharply from the red dirt of the outback—possess a unique, architectural presence.
In this composition, I wanted to explore the rhythmic layering of geological sediment. Rather than a traditional, photographic rendering, this piece plays with bold bands of colour, shifting patterns, and tactile textures to evoke the intense, grounding emotion of standing at the foot of these natural monoliths. It captures the crisp air, the dramatic play of light against stone, and the timeless endurance of the Australian landscape.
The Artistic Vision & Influences My studio style sits in the compelling space where contemporary fine art meets bold, graphic pop art. This piece is heavily informed by early 20th-century modernism and the striking design principles of Mid-Century Modernism.
My work draws deep creative energy from global masters of form and colour, such as Joan Miró and Paul Klee, alongside celebrated historic Australian landscape painters like Sidney Nolan, Charles Blackman, and the irreverent graphic mastery of Reg Mombassa. By stripping the landscape down to its essential geometries, this print brings a contemporary, sophisticated slice of the native Australian wilderness into the modern home.
Choose Your Premium Presentation Format
To perfectly suit your interior design space, this limited-edition landscape artwork is available in two premium, gallery-grade formats. Each piece is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity documenting the edition number, archival materials, and studio origins.
1. Archival Cotton Rag Paper Print
Designed for collectors who appreciate unmatched tonal depth, a velvety texture, and museum-grade longevity:
Paper Stock: Somerset Museum Rag (300 gsm). A 100% cotton, heavyweight fine art paper with a beautifully smooth, matte surface that is highly durable.
Print Quality: Crafted as a professional Giclée print using advanced archival pigment-ink coating technologies. This gives the artwork incredibly deep blacks and a rich colour gamut designed to remain lightfast for generations.
Presentation: Unframed limited edition, hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
2. Premium Fine Art Canvas Print (Rolled)
Ideal if you prefer the timeless, textured profile of a traditional gallery canvas:
Canvas Stock: Sihl Luna Artist (350 gsm) Poly-Cotton Blend Canvas. A heavy-duty, high-quality canvas featuring a natural, light 2:1 weave structure.
Visual Profile: Free from artificial optical brighteners to preserve natural colouring and ensure maximum light stability. The splashproof satin finish allows for rich colour reproduction and deep, deep blacks without cracking or white-scoring.
Presentation: Unframed limited edition, shipped securely in roll form within a heavy-duty tube. Supplied with a 55mm bleed (extra white canvas border) to allow for easy gallery wrapping and custom framing.
