Tea Trees

Tea Trees | Modernist Fine Art Print

The Artistic Vision My work and style are deeply rooted in early 20th-century modernism and the bold, expressive freedom of Mid-Century Modern design. Rather than trying to capture a literal, photographic depiction of the landscape, I am fascinated by the way stylised forms, vibrant colour palettes, organic textures, and shifting patterns can evoke a profound inner emotion.

This piece bridges the gap between contemporary fine art and graphic pop art sensibilities. It is heavily influenced by the abstract surrealism of Joan Miró and Paul Klee, alongside the iconic, raw storytelling of legendary Australian artists Charles Blackman and Sidney Nolan and the irreverent graphic energy of Reg Mombassa. Through this lens, the native tea tree is transformed into a rhythmic dance of mid-century geometry and emotional landscape.
