This is a linocut illustration print that I created from a drawing of Luna Park in St. Kilda. My illustrations and linocuts are available for sale or by commission.
I like the intricate interplay of line, texture, and tone within my artistic work. Printmaking, with its methodical process, demands countless hours of designing and hand-carving the lino block before the final printing stage. Each print, a unique entity, possesses its own distinct character, making the printing phase an art form in itself.
My creative inspirations draw from the rich legacy of Australian printmakers like Margaret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan, as well as the profound influence of Japanese printmaker Un'ichi Hiratsuka and the Sōsaku-hanga woodblock print movement from the 20th century.
