The owl has been represented in mythology in various cultures. Nocturnal birds of prey and owls universally symbolise the powers of night, mystery, and wisdom. In ancient Greece, the owl was a symbol of the goddess Athena. For some Australian First Nations people, the owl is considered to be the sacred spirit of women.
When I’m not working on linocuts, I’m a freelance illustrator and graphic artist. I’m based in Melbourne, Australia, but I work remotely for people around Australia and the world. My creative inspirations draw from the rich legacy of Australian printmakers like Margaret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan, as well as the profound influence of Japanese printmaker Un'ichi Hiratsuka and the Sōsaku-hanga woodblock print movement from the 20th century.
