The Challenge: Whimsical Narrative for Premium Pet Apparel
In collaboration with Sara and Jane of Coco & Pud, the objective was to develop a standout visual theme for their premium winter collection. The challenge was to create a "Whimsical Narrative"—dogs ice-skating in cozy knitwear—while ensuring the artwork could be seamlessly converted into a technical repeat pattern suitable for a wide range of products, from luxury blankets to durable harnesses and collars. The aesthetic needed to be high-end, hand-painted, and breed-diverse to appeal to the "Premium Pet" consumer market.
The Solution: A Hand-Painted Watercolour Visual System
I created a series of bespoke watercolour illustrations featuring French Bulldogs, Westies, Dachshunds, and Cavoodles. Beyond the initial character design, I engineered a seamless repeat print optimised for textile application. This holistic design approach allowed Coco & Pud to apply a unified visual identity across their entire product line, including double-sided printed polyester webbing and luxury plush blankets. My role as an off-site art department provided a "turnkey solution"—taking the project from initial watercolour sketches to the final technical production files required for textile manufacturing.
